Student Led Conferences

At CGLA, students are empowered to take charge of their own academic development plan through Student Led Conferences—which allow students to present their own view of their academic strengths and weaknesses to their family members and teachers. By leading these conferences, students are able to take ownership for their learning, set their own personal academic goals, and engage more with the process than the typical teacher-led approach.
CGLA students participate in Student Led Conferences each quarter and work individually with teachers and family members to achieve their established goals throughout the next academic quarter—a critical component of CGLA’s family engagement model.

“You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach her to learn by creating curiosity, she will continue the learning process as long as she lives.” – Clay P. Bedford
