From our beginnings, Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy has been a leader and innovator, becoming the first single-gender public charter school in Tennessee and the first public charter school approved by the Hamilton County Department of Education.  Serving grades 6-12, CGLA was also the first school in Hamilton County to focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), a model we have expanded to include the arts integrated across the curriculum.

CGLA offers a rigorous college preparatory education, a small student-to-teacher ratio and a nurturing environment to support leadership development and academic achievement. CGLA partners with cultural, academic, and corporate organizations across the region to provide students with unique experiences that take learning beyond classroom boundaries. CGLA also offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including an athletics program (basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and soccer), Student Ambassador program, Beta Club, People Helping People Club, Hip-Hop Club, Art Club, Lego Robotics team, Mustang Leadership Partners, Poetry Out Loud, Young Southern Writers, Act-So Club, quarterly honors recognition, and more!

CGLA is looking for girls who desire to attend an all-girls school with a rigorous academic curriculum and are interested in becoming leaders in their school, community, and the world.
