Breaking ground on the new gym
Friday, May 13th was anything but unlucky for the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy when students, faculty and staff joined the HUTTON Company in breaking ground on the school’s newest renovation project. Thanks to the generosity of CEO Karen J. Hutton and architect Rice Williams of Artech design firm, CGLA’s outdated athletic facility will get a major remodel to bring it into code compliance. The renovation will include bleachers, an HVAC system, a roof, and additional restrooms. In addition to the generous support of HUTTON, CGLA wishes to thank the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, the Weldon F. Osborne Foundation, andBlueCross BlueShield Tennessee Health Foundation (THF) for their financial contributions to this project. The renovation of the CGLA gymnasium is only part of a significant grant received by THF to create an expansive Health and Wellness program for CGLA students, faculty, parents, and the larger neighboring community. The CGLA gym will serve as the hub for this exciting program. The remodel is targeted for completion in August 2016.
