Chattanooga Day of the Girl
We were proud and happy to be a part of the heartwarming celebration of the 2nd Annual Chattanooga Day of the Girl event at Coolidge Park where 1000 students from GPS, CGLA, and Girls Inc. joined together. Throughout the event, CGLA, GPS, and Girls Inc. leaders passionately shared their visions for supporting and empowering girls. CGLA Senior Serenity Nixon eloquently spoke about the transformative impact of education and community support on personal growth, leaving an indelible mark on the audience. Our visionary CEO, Dr. Elaine Swafford, emphasized the urgent need for equity and equality in the lives of young girls. She expressed gratitude for the impactful Chattanooga Day of the Girl event, highlighting its role in empowering girls to find their voices and make meaningful contributions to the community.Chief Murphy courageously shared her journey in a traditionally male-dominated field, inspiring the girls to believe in themselves despite challenges. She said, "No matter what path you choose, never allow anyone to diminish your worth."Looking ahead, we are excited to see more community members coming together in the years to come. We envision dynamic futures for young girls as they aspire to achieve their dreams, paying it forward by empowering their family members and communities. Together, we are privileged to be shaping a world where every girl is equipped to create a lasting impact.
