Empower Mentor Program

In September 2013, CGLA launched a mentoring program...

looking for individuals and organizations with enthusiasm and commitment to mentor students in grades 6-12 throughout the school year. The Empower Mentoring Program connects CGLA students with caring adult advocates who will provide encouragement and support in academics, college and career planning, life skills, and leadership development. CGLA mentors will be expected to commit at least five hours per month to mentoring activities and to connect with their CGLA mentee weekly. Mentors will assist with tutoring and homework help; building students’ self-esteem; identifying resource needs; and exposing students to potential career choices and new experiences.

Can’t get away from the office to mentor?  A Corporate Mentoring Partnership between CGLA and local companies benefits both the students and the employers.  CGLA will provide training and ongoing support to mentors throughout the program.

Individuals or businesses interested in participating in the mentor program should email Ashley Hale, CGLA College & Career Counselor.
