Parents & Families

Dear Parents & Guardians...

...we hope you will join us in our efforts to support and encourage your young ladies to give their very best every day, as we, the faculty and staff, make the pledge to provide a rigorous, yet engaging curriculum for our students.  We have been called upon as a community of educators and learners to meet the demands of a new standard of educating our most important asset, our youth of today.  Join us as we move forward in this endeavor.  It is, once again, an exciting and defining year at CGLA.

“You can have unbelievable intelligence, you can have connections, you can have opportunities fall out of the sky. But in the end, hard work is the true, enduring characteristic of successful people.” – Marsha Evans

CGLA is committed to engaging parents...

...as partners to be lead participants in their child’s academic and social development and be involved in the school’s operations and governance. We believe that family involvement is critical to the success of students, and family members are key partners in the school learning community. More than 30 years of research confirms that when parents and family members are actively engaged, students have:

  • higher grades, test scores, and graduation rates
  • better school attendance
  • increased motivation and higher self-esteem
  • lower rates of disciplinary action, including school suspension
  • decreased use of drugs and alcohol
  • fewer instances of violent behavior

In light of these findings, CGLA views parents as lead participants in girls’ academic and social development. Be there for your girl!

  • Spend at least two hours in your child’s classroom during each 9-week period.
  • Reinforce CGLA’s Technology Responsible Use Policy to ensure safe and ethical use of technology tools.
  • Participate in Parent Institute activities and monthly Family Nights.
  • Volunteer at CGLA.
